GIF Contributions
The focus is on identifying and developing business cases for transactions suitable for implementation via Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), such as Operations and Maintenance (O&M) or concession arrangements. The PDA will assess the risks, costs and impact of identifying new cable proponents, finding a long a€ term O&M operator for the upgrading works required, and private investments and models of implementation needed for new digital infrastructure that promote competition and sustainability of operations. The GIF would additionally provide support through its experience in ICT sector (e.g. Ethiopia telecom) with corporate transactions to provide the GoP and IFC with insights on how the options may be implemented. This may include advice on the tendering process and development of options for this sector.
